What's for reading?  Judy Blume favorites are on the menu! We have read The One in the Middle is the Green Kanagroo  and Freckle Juice.  We read both texts using the reading voice and thinking voice strategy. Now, we are working on retelling them from a story map.

Lobster Rings

How do you tell the age of a lobster? We read the article Lobster Rings to determine the answer. We also worked on main ideas and details in the article using the Suitcase strategy*.

Word Work

We are reviewing the common vowel patterns through sorting and games.

Fluency Tutor

We log on to fluency tutor. Students listen to the passage several times and practice recording themselves reading. At the end of the week, they submit their reading of the passage and the follow up questions.
